We have removed subscription plans from Evelance. There are no more monthly or annual commitments. You now buy persona packs when you need them and use them at your own pace.
This post explains what changed, how the new pricing works, and what it means if you already have an account.
Why We Made This Change
Subscription pricing made sense when we launched because it gave us predictable revenue and gave teams a fixed budget to plan around. But after watching how teams actually used the platform, we saw a pattern that made subscriptions a poor fit.
Research usage is uneven. A product team might run 8 tests in one week during a redesign sprint and then run nothing for 3 weeks while engineering builds. A monthly subscription charges the same amount for both of those months. Teams told us they felt pressure to run tests they did not need, or they felt guilty about paying for a quiet month. Neither of those outcomes served anyone well.
We also heard from smaller teams and freelancers who wanted to use Evelance for a single project but could not justify a recurring subscription for something they would use intermittently. A pay-as-you-go model removes that barrier entirely.
How It Works Now
You purchase persona packs. Each pack contains a set number of Evelance Personas that you can use across any project, any test type, at any time. Packs do not expire.
Here is the current pricing:
- 10 personas for $29.90 ($2.99 per persona)
- 50 personas for $139.50 ($2.79 per persona)
- 100 personas for $259.00 ($2.59 per persona)
- 300 personas for $717.00 ($2.39 per persona)
The per-persona cost drops as you buy larger packs. You can also combine packs if you need a volume that falls between the options listed above.
For each test you run, you decide how many personas to include. Most teams use 8 to 12 personas per test, which gives enough signal to make confident decisions. A 10-persona test at the base pack rate costs $29.90. The same validation through traditional participant recruitment would cost $570 or more in incentives alone, before accounting for researcher time, scheduling, and analysis.
What Stays the Same
The platform itself has not changed. You still upload a live URL or design file, select your target audience from over 2 million Evelance Personas, and receive psychology scores, persona narratives, and prioritized recommendations. Single tests, A/B comparisons, and competitor benchmarks all work the same way.
Test output, report formatting, and the Intelligent Audience Engine are unchanged. The only thing that is different is how you pay for it.
What Happens to Existing Subscriptions
If you had an active subscription, your remaining credits have been converted to persona credits in your account. Nothing was lost. Those credits function the same way purchased pack credits do, and they do not expire.
Enterprise Teams
Teams running high volumes of tests on a regular basis can contact us about a custom setup with tailored pricing and dedicated capacity. This option exists for organizations where a pack-based model becomes impractical due to scale.
These Are Introductory Rates
The per-persona prices listed above are introductory rates as we roll out the new model. They may increase over time as the platform continues to develop. If you are considering Evelance, the current pricing is the lowest it will be.
Getting Started
You can purchase persona packs directly from your dashboard. If you are new to Evelance, we offer a free trial with 5 days of access and 10 credits so you can run a test on your own project before buying anything.
